The purpose of the ACFO-DP health committee is to provide a long-term vision for the health file in order to meet the expectations and needs of the francophone and francophile community in the Durham-Peterborough region.
Access to quality health services in French has a direct impact on the health of Francophones. Therefore, ACFO-DP, consider the health file as the vertical axis that crosses our other strategic axes: youth and education, seniors and francophone vitality.
Responsibilities
- Mobilize Francophones in Durham to identify health needs, priorities and solutions that are in line with the major current and future areas of intervention.
- Provide Entity 4 with community data for prioritizing health services in French.
- Support ACFO-DP in partnership with Entité 4 and the Center-East LHIN in the engagement of Francophone communities for the improvement of French-language services in Durham and assess all strategies related to health and well-being of Francophones in Durham
The Table francophone de concertation en santé de Durham is therefore the result of collaboration between ACFO-DP, the Central East LHIN, Entité 4, several health service providers and community organizations. The Table francophone de concertation en santé de Durham is therefore an important initiative for the Francophone community in this region. It will be thanks to the contribution of each of the members of the Table that Entité 4 will be able to collect data, information and suggestions on the best means of improving access to health services in French. for Francophones in Durham Region. In addition, the committee defines the priorities of ACFO-DP’s health file and establishes an action plan to achieve its objectives, after the approval of the Board of Directors.
